The tiny, honky-tonk town of Fox Hill was never big enough for Caitlyn. One day, she packed up her life, leaving Fox Hill, TN—and everyone in it—in the dust. Since then she’s kept her eyes focused on her future, barely glancing in the mirror of her past.
But the winds of change have been spiraling around her lately, stirring up the urge to conquer something new. She’s thinking an MBA at a prestigious university is in the cards, but news of an unexpected inheritance throws a wrench in her newly oiled plan.
When her grandparents retire, they book one-way tickets to Cruise Ship life. But before they hit the high seas they come up with the clever idea to leave their once illustrious Music Hall to Caitlyn. With one tricky stipulation: she can do with it what she pleases, but she has to sign all the paperwork on-site…in dusty, derelict ol’ Fox Hill.
Suddenly, Caitlyn finds herself back in Tennessee, reluctantly reconnecting with her childhood bestfriend, Reba, and Reba’s curiously grumpy brother, Kurt. It’s supposed to be a quick in-and-out: sell the Music Hall and get back to the big city.But a mystery is afoot and the Music Hall is in unsellable shambles!
Caitlyn’s not the first person to sense foul play in Fox Hill, but she is the first to investigate it. The Beaumont Cornmeal Company is buying up everyone’s property leaving her old hometown is on its last legs. If a little sleuthing isn’t done, Fox Hill may well crumble, along with all of Caitlyn’s childhood memories. But now she needs the help of the very people she left behind.Unfortunately, it seems she needs Kurt Hunter’s help the most; though he’s the person least inclined to give it…
